Christmas in Temple Dec 22nd

So, as I read other blogs, and get ideas, I've decided to post most of the photos in a link so that you aren't scrolling forever down the blog entry to see everything. We'll see how this goes. Don't worry, there will still be some posted here to whet your appetite!! :o) http://picasaweb.google.com/armyforchrist/Christmas2007

On Sat December 22nd, we enjoyed Christmas with Chris's family in Temple. At 4:00 we gathered at Stephen & Shelly's to celebrate Christmas with the Kelley side (Chris's mom's side) of the family. We had a lot of fun enjoying family! John loved hanging out with Nana and the cousins. Shelby & Cameron couldn't get enough of him. Even Uncle Stephen & Aunt Stacy got their turn! We had some yummy Papa John's pizza (atypical for the usual get together, but good nonetheless!) John couldn't get enough of the lights on the Christmas tree! When it came time to open presents, he was priceless! He grabbed right at the paper and ripped it off, and then proceeded to put it in his mouth, then he would grab more paper, and crinkle it. I don't think Chris & I opened our gifts for about 20 minutes, b/c it was so much fun watching him. He would get really excited about it too!
We left that party, and headed to TBC, to possibly catch up with old friends at the Star of Bethlehem presentation. We did run into Shannon Soard, the guy who did the first part of our wedding, and two other friends we knew from singles. We only stayed for the first half, as John was getting tired, and we still had to do Christmas with Chris's dad. John fell asleep, on the way over to the house, but woke up in time to open gifts, then go right back down. Chris's family made sure that we got plenty of Longhorn paraphernalia, to "ensure he knows the correct team to root for!" We shall see!! :o) (Unfortunately our camera died at Chris's dad's house, so we weren't able to capture any pictures there. We will try to see if we can borrow some of the ones he took. )
After John went down we watched the remainder of the Cowboys game. Well, rather Chris, JR, Penny, Stephen & Shelley watched the game, and I spent the game listening to Cameron & Trevor tell me stories. Cameron was telling me about the "ghost" he saw in the house, and then he was telling me all his ideas about amusement park rides. Shelley & Penny found it rather comical! I enjoyed it though!
They also had some really great food, which even though we had just eaten, we partook of!
All in all, it was a very fun, peaceful Christmas celebration. I really enjoyed getting to know Chris's family a little better, and look forward to continuing the relationship.
