John's first time in a big pool!!

On May 30th, John got his first experience in a big swimming pool. One of the Major's in Chris's batallion was PCS'ing so the Colonel threw a swimming pool party. The party started at one, and for some reason, John decided he was extra tired and took an extra long nap, so we showed up at nearly three. People were just starting to get in the pool, so it was perfect. Chris jumped in the pool and John got in with him. He was very interested in the people in the pool, and not so much in the water. He finally got used to it, and started "swimming." He enjoyed it for about 10 minutes, and then decided he was done, so we spent the rest of the party on a towel, playing with the Chaplain's son who was around the same age, and eating food! Here are some pictures:

"I'm not really sure what I think about this, dad."
"Not sure if this is any better."
"This waterfall flows a lot faster than the water in my tub."
John's first time being splashed. A ball from the volleyball game landed right where they were.
I'm starting to get used to the water!

John & I have been swimming one other time since this party. We joined Sherrie & Elijah at the YMCA in Harker Heights in June while daddy was in the field. John wasn't too fond of the splash park, but once he got used to being in the water, he wanted to swim and swim and swim. In fact when Elijah got out, he still wanted to swim. He even tried to put his face in the water, but had some issues blowing bubbles!!! I think he'll be really good at the breaststroke or even butterfly when he gets older. It was really nice that when we got there, they had adult swim, so we got to get in without any little kids splashing him, and he could get used to the water before all the splashing occurred!

That's so great that he likes it. It took Jeremy a long time to like the pool. He loves the bathtub, but when his feet didn't touch the bottom anymore he was not pleased! He's better now. You guys need to come out and swim here! Great entertainment for the kids and great way to cool off a pregnant mama! (Trust me, I know!)
